Lilla Japan (Little Japan) is a genuine Japanese shop in Uppsala, Sweden. We opened in March 2012, and also have a web shop. Our idea is to import various Japanese items such as clothes, cute things, Japanese groceries, candy and soft drinks, bags, pottering, origami, accessories, decoration items, utensils, Japanese training books and much more. The majority of our items are meant for the Japanese market, so the things you find here are exactly the same things that are sold throughout Japan. By this, you can be absolutely sure about the quality of our items! Much of it is produced in Japan, but some items are produced in for example China for cost reasons.

Our prices are often lower than what the same item cost in a store in Japan, thanks to our personal contacts with many Japanese wholesalers.

We are constantly working on the translation of our item descriptions into English. New items are always added with English description as well. However, since we have some 1000 different articles, it will take a while until all is translated. For items that have no translation yet, the description is shown in Swedish, and you can use Google translate to get a decent translation of the meaning.

Note: The prices in the shop is defined in SEK, and automatically calculated to other currencies based on a daily exchange rate. This means that the prices may vary slighly from day to day.
We are happy to answer any question about Japan, and you are welcome in to our store just to try out your Japanese!  (we speak Japanese, English and Swedish).

Due to the special location of the store in the heart of Uppsala near the cathedral, a lot of tourists also visit the shop. Therefore we also have an affordable range of Swedish souvenirs both with Uppsala profile and general Swedish!

At Lilla Japan your shopping is always convenient and safe. Because we have our own physical shop in Uppsala, you can always come in contact with us quickly.

My name is Yurika Rosengren and I am the owner of Lilla Japan. I am originally from Japan, but have lived in Sweden for more than 20 years. The idea is that you shall be able to find unique and exciting things in our shop, combined with a genuine knowledge. A miniature Japan! Our motto is "Upplev Japan i butiken" which means "Experience Japan in our shop".

In addition to our shop at Fyristorg and on the web, we also participates in conventions for Japanese popular culture in Sweden. There we open a temporary sale of our products. It typically looks as on the pictures below.
